e9103402c0 Fixed #18757, #14462, #21565 -- Reworked database-python type conversions 
Complete rework of translating data values from database

Deprecation of SubfieldBase, removal of resolve_columns and
convert_values in favour of a more general converter based approach and
public API Field.from_db_value(). Now works seamlessly with aggregation,
.values() and raw queries.

Thanks to akaariai in particular for extensive advice and inspiration,
also to shaib, manfre and timograham for their reviews.

6732566967 Bump the default iterations for PBKDF2. 
The rate at which we've increased this has not been keeping up with hardware (and software) improvements, and we're now considerably behind where we should be. The delta between our performance and an optimized implementation's performance prevents us from improving that further, but hopefully once Python 2.7.8 and 3.4+ get into more hands we can more aggressively increase this number.

8b5b199e20 Fixed #3214 -- Stopped parsing SQL with regex. 
Avoided introducing a new regex-based SQL splitter in the migrations
framework, before we're bound by backwards compatibility.

Adapted this change to the legacy "initial SQL data" feature, even
though it's already deprecated, in order to facilitate the transition
to migrations.

sqlparse becomes mandatory for RunSQL on some databases (all but
PostgreSQL). There's no API to provide a single statement and tell
Django not to attempt splitting. Since we have a more robust splitting
implementation, that seems like a good tradeoff. It's easier to add a
new keyword argument later if necessary than to remove one.

Many people contributed to both tickets, thank you all, and especially
Claude for the review.

9ffab9cee1 Moved RequestSite and get_current_site. 
Following the app-loading refactor, these objects must live outside of
django.contrib.sites.models because they must be available without
importing the django.contrib.sites.models module when
django.contrib.sites isn't installed.

d7aa0bd802 We should branch after the first beta. 
We did this for 1.6 and it was very effective. 95%+ of fixes which merge
during the alpha are backported, as the policy is "all but really major
features". It's easier to just not merge any really major features.
After beta, we have feature freeze so we need to backport bugs to stable
but not features, so then the branch makes sense.

9b7455e918 Fixed #21351 -- Replaced memoize with Python's lru_cache. 
Replaced the custom, untested memoize with a similar decorator from Python's
3.2 stdlib. Although some minor performance degradation (see ticket), it is
expected that in the long run lru_cache will outperform memoize once it is
implemented in C.

replacing memoize with lru_cache.

0d0f4f020a Fixed #5789 -- Changed LocaleMiddleware session variable to '_language'.

e527c0b6d8 Fixed #13252 -- Added ability to serialize with natural primary keys. 
Added ``--natural-foreign`` and ``--natural-primary`` options and
deprecated the ``--natural`` option to the ``dumpdata`` management
command.

Added ``use_natural_foreign_keys`` and ``use_natural_primary_keys``
arguments and deprecated the ``use_natural_keys`` argument to
``django.core.serializers.Serializer.serialize()``.

3895d8899d Fixed #21213 -- Added docs for Django's mailing lists. 
Added docs/internals/mailing-lists.txt documenting the use of django's
mailing lists. All references across docs changed to point to this page.

The referencing makes use of substitution because there's no way to make
a :ref: link in a non-inline fashion in Sphinx. It also makes use of
rst_epilog Sphinx conf for making this substitutions across all the
docs.

bf757a2f4d Fixed #21147 -- Avoided time.time precision issue with cache backends. 
The precision of time.time() is OS specific and it is possible for the
resolution to be low enough to allow reading a cache key previously set
with a timeout of 0.

a075e2ad0d Increase default PBKDF2 iterations 
Increases the default PBKDF2 iterations, since computers have gotten
faster since 2011. In the future, we plan to increment by 10% per
major version.

ec2778b445 Fixed #17262 -- Refactored tzinfo implementations. 
This commit deprecates django.utils.tzinfo in favor of the more recent
django.utils.timezone which was introduced when Django gained support
for time zones.

4d13cc56de Fixed #21035 -- Changed docs to treat the acronym SQL phonetically.
